Established in 1975 in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, Tai Wing Wah Restaurant has become one of the city’s most respected destinations for traditional walled-village cuisine—a rustic style of Hakka and indigenous Cantonese cooking deeply rooted in the history and culture of Hong Kong’s New Territories.
Guided by the philosophy of “eating according to the seasons,” the restaurant showcases more than 100 signature walled-village dishes, prepared using fresh seasonal ingredients while preserving recipes and cooking techniques passed down through generations.

From 2010 to 2026, Tai Wing Wah Restaurant received 17 consecutive editions of Michelin Guide recognition, reflecting its unwavering dedication to culinary excellence and the preservation of traditional village cuisine.
The restaurant is led by celebrated chef Hugo Leung Man To (梁文韬), widely known as “To To” and recognised throughout Hong Kong as the “God of Cookery.” With a culinary career spanning nearly five decades, Chef Leung has played a significant role in introducing the richness of Hong Kong’s traditional cuisine to wider audiences through both his restaurant and numerous television programmes.
Under his leadership, Tai Wing Wah has become more than a dining destination—it serves as a living showcase of Hong Kong’s culinary heritage, where every dish reflects the history, traditions, and stories of the local walled-village communities.
A Milestone Moment of Acknowledgement
The ASIA Records certificate was officially presented on 3 August 2026 at Yuen Long Tai Wing Wah Restaurant, marking the formal recognition of the restaurant’s historic achievement.
The recognition was received on stage by celebrity chef Hugo Leung Man To (梁文韬), representing Tai Wing Wah Restaurant’s enduring commitment to preserving Hong Kong’s traditional walled-village cuisine for future generations.
