First Educational Collaboration to Introduce a Clinically-Deployed AI Coronary Angiography Analysis System to Bachelor-Level Cardiovascular Technology Students (Medipixel MPXA, South Korea; inaugural presentation by Prof. Yongcheol Kim at IJN University College, Kuala Lumpur, 20th July 2026; 50 BCVT students)

Through this educational collaboration, 50 Bachelor of Cardiovascular Technology (BCVT) students were introduced to Medipixel MPXA, a clinically deployed artificial intelligence system for coronary angiography analysis developed in South Korea.

The initiative provided students with direct exposure to the growing role of artificial intelligence in interventional cardiology, while supporting the development of future-ready cardiovascular professionals equipped to understand emerging clinical technologies.

The educational session featured Medipixel MPXA, an AI-powered coronary angiography analysis system originating from South Korea.

The programme was conducted under the topic:

“How Can AI Change My Daily Practice During PCI? – Focus on AI-QCA and Beyond”

The inaugural presentation was delivered by Prof. Kim Yong Cheol, a world-renowned expert in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) from the Cardiovascular Center at Yongin Severance Hospital and Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea.

During the session, students were introduced to the role of artificial intelligence in coronary angiography analysis and its potential application within PCI-related clinical workflows.

The educational programme also included a question-and-answer session, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with an internationally recognised specialist and gain further insight into the evolving relationship between cardiovascular medicine and AI-assisted technology.
