ASIA Records hosted the 2nd ASIA Records Gather of Achievers – Chinese New Year Celebration 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together more than 100 record holders, entrepreneurs, innovators and industry leaders for an evening of recognition, networking and festive celebration.
The event also marked an important milestone for the platform, with a total of 34 records recognised in one evening, including 18 ASIA Records, acknowledging outstanding achievements across multiple industries and sectors.
The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Malaysia, who attended as the Guest of Honour.
Celebrating the ASIA Records Achievers Community
The Gather of Achievers initiative reflects the vision of ASIA Records to be more than just a record-certification platform, but also a platform that connects achievers and fosters a strong community among record holders.
Through these gatherings, ASIA Records brings together newly recognised record holders and past achievers to share their journeys, exchange knowledge, explore collaborations and celebrate milestones.
The initiative continues to strengthen the ASIA Records ecosystem by encouraging innovation, cross-industry collaboration and inspiration among leading organisations and entrepreneurs across Asia.
Distinguished Guest of Honour: YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin
The evening was graced by the presence of YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Malaysia.
His arrival was welcomed with an auspicious Lion Dance march-in, symbolising prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.

The celebration continued with traditional Chinese New Year ceremonies including the Cai Qing (Plucking of the Greens) ritual and the festive Lou Sang prosperity toss, reinforcing the spirit of unity, abundance and celebration shared among the community of achievers.
During the formal proceedings, YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin delivered a special address highlighting the importance of innovation, entrepreneurship and regional collaboration in strengthening Asia’s economic and cultural landscape.

Introducing ASIA Food Records
A key highlight of the evening was the official launch of ASIA Food Records, officiated by YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin together with ASIA Records Directors Eldrick Koh and Gillian Ooi.

The initiative aims to recognise notable achievements related to food and gastronomy while celebrating the rich and diverse food heritage across Asia, highlighting the importance of food culture as well as regional food brands.
Food plays an important role in tourism and cultural identity. As a new sub-category under the ASIA Records recognition framework, ASIA Food Records will document and recognise remarkable food achievements, traditional culinary heritage and outstanding food brands, further promoting the region’s vibrant food culture.

One of the highlights of the evening was the ASIA Records Certificate Presentation Ceremony, where 18 new ASIA Records were officially recognised.

Tourism Records Supporting Visit Malaysia 2026
During the event, updates were also shared on the ASEAN and ASIA Tourism Records initiative, which was recognised in February 2026 by YB Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia.
Tourism Records is a dedicated sub-category under the records recognition framework designed to document tourism destinations through verified and measurable records.
By recognising the unique characteristics, heritage and historical significance of tourism locations, the initiative helps the public better understand the stories and identities behind these destinations while supporting Malaysia’s Visit Malaysia 2026 national tourism campaign.
Strengthening the Records Recognition Platform

During the event, it was also announced that Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, Founder of the Malaysia Book of Records, had joined the organisation as Chairman of the Advisory Board of ASEAN Records.
With more than three decades of experience in documenting achievements and record-keeping, his leadership and guidance are expected to further strengthen the development of the regional records recognition platform.
Cultural Performances and Chinese New Year Festivities
In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, the evening featured a series of festive performances and cultural activities.

Guests enjoyed a spectacular LED Lion Acrobatics performance, symbolising prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.
The event also featured a Face Mask Changing (Bian Lian) performance by Jin Long, a well-known personality who was previously a radio announcer on Melody FM, captivating the audience with the dramatic Sichuan opera art of instant mask changing.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Master Suyen returned for the second year to share a Feng Shui talk, offering insights on prosperity and positive energy for the year ahead.
