Deploying Portable Battery Power Across Three River Precincts
For Singapore River Festival 2026, GoRental deployed 62 portable battery units across Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay over ten consecutive days.
The deployment was modelled at approximately 1,600 kWh based on per-segment metered discharge, supporting the temporary energy requirements of a major river festival operating across multiple public locations.
The scale of the deployment demonstrates how distributed portable battery systems can be coordinated across a complex event environment while providing flexible power to different operating zones.
Building a Cleaner Alternative to Diesel-Based Temporary Power
GoRental SG was incorporated in 2017 with a focus on developing cleaner approaches to temporary and mobile energy.
The company combines Battery Energy Storage Systems, intelligent energy management, and operational deployment expertise to reduce dependence on conventional diesel generators.
By removing the need for continuous generator operation, battery-based systems can help reduce on-site noise, exhaust, and emissions while offering greater flexibility in locations where conventional power infrastructure may be limited or impractical.
The Singapore River Festival deployment provided a large-scale demonstration of how this technology can operate across multiple sites within an active urban environment.
Expanding the Role of BESS in Real-World Applications
GoRental’s record reflects a broader transition in how temporary power can be delivered for festivals, commercial activities, and public spaces.
Through a ten-day deployment spanning three quays, the company demonstrated that portable battery energy storage can move beyond individual units or isolated applications and function as coordinated temporary energy infrastructure.
The achievement represents another step towards GoRental’s vision of making cleaner power more reliable, intelligent, and accessible across real-world operating environments throughout Asia.
A Milestone Moment of Recognition
The ASIA Records certificate was officially presented on 11 September 2026 at CQ @ Clarke Quay Fountain Square, Singapore.
The recognition was received on stage by Colin Peh, Co-Founder of GoRental Global; Teo Ser Foong, Head of Growth of GB Helios; and Aston Chia, Marketing and Partnerships Manager of GoRental Global, representing the team and collaboration behind the large-scale BESS deployment at Singapore River Festival 2026.
The presentation was witnessed by Guest-of-Honour Mr Foo Cexiang, Minister of State, Ministry of Manpower & Ministry of Trade and Industry.
