Tourism Johor Recognised by ASIA Records for Achieving the Highest International Visitor Entries via Land Border Crossings

ASIA Records is proud to officially recognise Tourism Johor for achieving a significant continental milestone as the:

Most International Visitor Entries Recorded via Land Border Crossings between Two Fully Independent Sovereign Nations within a Joint Bilateral Special Economic Zone
(24,698,199 total entries in 2025; 19,387,115 from immediate sovereign neighbour, Singapore).

This recognition highlights Johor’s strategic position as a major international gateway—demonstrating its strength in cross-border connectivity, tourism infrastructure, and regional economic integration across Asia.

A Strategic Gateway Driving Regional Tourism Growth

The achievement reflects Johor’s critical role as one of Malaysia’s primary entry points for international visitors, particularly through its land border connectivity with Singapore.

With over 24.6 million international visitor entries recorded in 2025, including more than 19.3 million visitors from Singapore, Johor stands as a high-volume, high-efficiency tourism gateway within a unique bilateral economic zone.

This milestone underscores the effectiveness of Johor’s tourism strategies, infrastructure development, and its ability to facilitate seamless cross-border travel between two fully independent sovereign nations.

Strengthening Johor’s Position on the Asian Tourism Map

The recognition further reinforces Johor’s standing as a leading tourism destination—not only within Malaysia but across the broader Asian region.

In conjunction with the Visit Johor Year 2026 initiative, the milestone reflects strong industry collaboration, sustained growth momentum, and the state’s readiness to welcome even higher visitor volumes in the coming years.

Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), Johor continues to enhance its tourism ecosystem through strategic promotion, infrastructure upgrades, and the development of unique cultural and experiential offerings.
