First and Longest Three-Quay River Festival Powered by Portable Battery Energy Storage Systems Across Ten Consecutive Days
(Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay; 0 litres of diesel consumed across the festival period; 3rd consecutive edition; 11–20 September 2026)
The achievement was realised through Singapore River Festival 2026, integrating portable battery energy storage systems into a ten-day festival spanning three of Singapore River’s distinctive quays while consuming zero litres of diesel across the festival period.
Connecting Three Quays Through One Festival
Celebrating its milestone 10th edition, Singapore River Festival 2026 transformed Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay into three interconnected festival zones from 11 to 20 September.
Each quay offered a distinctive experience: the Entertainment Zone @ Boat Quay, the Expression Zone @ Clarke Quay, and the Lifestyle & Wellness Zone @ Robertson Quay.
Across the river, each quay brings its own distinct energy and curated experiences, while coming together as one vibrant festival journey. Whether discovering captivating performances, immersive light experiences or opportunities to unwind by the waterfront, festivalgoers can explore, connect, and create lasting memories across all three quays.
Integrating Cleaner Energy into a Multi-Quay Festival
Supporting the festival was a cleaner approach to temporary event power through the use of portable battery energy storage systems, enabling the festival period to operate with zero litres of diesel consumed.
The initiative marked the third consecutive edition in which Singapore River Festival incorporated cleaner temporary power solutions in collaboration with GoRental.
For the 2026 edition, solar-charged mobile battery systems were deployed with a targeted supply of approximately 1,600 kWh of clean energy—equivalent to powering approximately 174 typical three-room HDB flats for one day—while targeting the avoidance of approximately 1.30 tonnes of CO₂e emissions.
Beyond reducing reliance on diesel, battery-based temporary power also offers the potential to reduce generator noise and emissions within busy public spaces, particularly significant for a festival integrated directly into an active waterfront precinct.
A New Model for Sustainable Festival Experiences
Singapore River Festival 2026 demonstrates how large-scale cultural, lifestyle, entertainment programming and cleaner event infrastructure can be integrated across multiple locations over an extended period.
By connecting three quays over ten consecutive days while incorporating portable battery energy storage systems throughout the festival, Singapore River One brought sustainability into the operational foundation of an established precinct activation rather than treating it as a standalone initiative.
The achievement reflects the growing potential for festivals across Asia to combine heritage, public experiences, technology, and more sustainable temporary energy infrastructure as part of their long-term development.
A Milestone Moment of Recognition
The ASIA Records certificate was officially presented on 11 September 2026 at CQ @ Clarke Quay Fountain Square, coinciding with the opening of the milestone 10th edition of Singapore River Festival.
The recognition was received by Michelle Koh, Executive Director of Singapore River One, and witnessed by Guest-of-Honour Mr Foo Cexiang, Minister of State, Ministry of Manpower & Ministry of Trade and Industry.
