From Farm to Kiosk in Under 24 Hours

Mascorn has built a vertically integrated agricultural and food production ecosystem that bridges cultivation, processing, product innovation, and retail distribution — all within a highly controlled timeline designed to preserve freshness and nutritional value.
At the heart of this achievement is Mascorn’s ability to deliver sweet corn products from homegrown crops to consumer kiosks within 24 hours, ensuring optimal taste, quality, and traceability.
The company’s product portfolio includes:
- Fresh sweet corn
- Frozen and packaged corn products
- Corn-in-Cup ready-to-eat offerings
- Organic Purple Corn Gelato
- A growing range of downstream sweet corn innovations
By combining agriculture, food manufacturing, R&D, and kiosk-based retailing under a single integrated system, Mascorn has established a scalable model that elevates corn from a raw commodity to a value-added consumer brand.
The ASIA Records recognition affirms Mascorn’s pioneering role in transforming Malaysia’s sweet corn industry into a modern, innovation-driven agri-food ecosystem.

A 40-Year Agricultural Journey

Established in 1987, Mascorn introduced super sweet corn into the Malaysian market nearly four decades ago. At a time when sweet corn was not widely cultivated locally, the company invested in research, planting systems, packaging development, and distribution networks to build market awareness.
Over the years, Mascorn expanded from serving wet markets and pasar malam to supplying major supermarkets and developing export markets including Hong Kong, Dubai, the Middle East, Turkey, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States — while continuing to strengthen its presence in Malaysia and Singapore.

The company has continuously reinvested in research and development, launching new value-added corn products annually while expanding its farming network through contract farming partnerships to support increasing demand.
Leadership Appointment and Institutional Support

The recognition ceremony was held in conjunction with the official visit and appointment of:
Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi bin Y.A.M. Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Al-Haj
as Group Chairman of Mascorn.
The visit also coincided with his re-appointment as CEO of the School of Business & Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
Also in attendance were representatives from key agencies and institutions, including:
- Jabatan Pertanian Selangor (DoA)
- Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA)
- Bank Pertanian Malaysia (AgroBank)
- Selangor State Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS)
- Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)
- Majlis Pembandaran Hulu Selangor (MPHS)
- Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)
Their presence underscored the broader agricultural, economic, and trade significance of Mascorn’s vertically integrated farm-to-market model.

Voices of Leadership
Reflecting on the milestone, Wong Yoon Bing, Group Managing Director of Mascorn, shared:

“For nearly four decades since 1987, we have been building Malaysia’s sweet corn industry from the ground up — starting with cultivation, then expanding into packaging, retail distribution, exports, and continuous product innovation. What began as the introduction of super sweet corn into Malaysia has today become a widely established market segment.
Over the years, we have grown from serving wet markets and pasar malam to supplying supermarkets and exporting to regions including Hong Kong, the Middle East, Turkey, Russia, the UK, and the United States — while continuing to strengthen our presence in Malaysia and Singapore.
This ASIA Records recognition affirms not just a product milestone, but our long-term commitment to research, value-added innovation, and sustainable growth. As demand continues to rise, we are expanding our land and strengthening partnerships with contract farmers to ensure consistent supply and shared prosperity across the agricultural ecosystem. We believe there is still tremendous room for growth in Asia, and we remain committed to developing the industry responsibly and collaboratively.”
