ASIA Records is proud to officially recognise HOU GU, through the Together in Charity Gala Dinner 2026, organised by Persatuan Kebajikan Hou Gu Negeri Sabah, for achieving:
First and Largest Tai Chi Fan Performance Using UV-Fluorescent Fans with Glow-in-the-Dark Logos at a Charity Gala Dinner
(108 participants, 108 fans)
This continental recognition celebrates an innovative cultural performance involving 108 volunteers, combining traditional Tai Chi fan choreography with fluorescent visual elements to promote unity, cultural appreciation and charitable participation.

A Coordinated Performance Featuring 108 Fluorescent Fans
The centrepiece of the Together in Charity Gala Dinner 2026 was a large-scale Tai Chi fan performance featuring 108 participants using 108 UV-fluorescent fans with glow-in-the-dark logos.
The performance brought together volunteers from different generations and backgrounds, who dedicated nearly six months to rehearsals and preparation.
Through coordinated movements and carefully arranged choreography, the participants created a unified visual presentation that combined traditional performance techniques with distinctive fluorescent effects.
The achievement reflects the scale of volunteer participation and the collaborative effort required to deliver a synchronised cultural performance within a charitable event.
Reimagining Traditional Tai Chi Fan Performance

Tai Chi fan performance is a cultural expression that incorporates martial arts-inspired movements, balance, rhythm and coordinated group choreography.
HOU GU introduced a distinctive visual approach by incorporating UV-fluorescent fans featuring glow-in-the-dark logos, enhancing the presentation of the traditional performance.
The combination of cultural heritage and contemporary visual elements created an engaging stage experience while maintaining the performance’s connection to traditional Chinese martial arts culture.
This approach demonstrates how established cultural practices can be presented in new ways to engage wider audiences and encourage community participation.
Connecting Cultural Celebration with Community Giving
The record-setting performance took place during the Together in Charity Gala Dinner 2026, held on 10 October 2026 at Kian Kok Middle School in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Approximately 750 guests attended the celebration, which brought together charitable supporters, community representatives and volunteers.
The evening featured a diverse cultural programme, including dance, drama, sign language performances, martial arts and traditional 24 Festive Drums.
Beyond celebrating cultural expression, the gala reflected the association’s wider mission to support community welfare through food assistance, healthcare support, education, senior care and charitable initiatives.
