This achievement highlights GoRental’s ability to deploy portable battery energy storage at significant scale, setting a new benchmark for cleaner and more efficient temporary event power across Asia.
Demonstrating Large-Scale Battery Power in a Real-World Event
Outdoor Expo Malaysia 2026 provided GoRental with a major real-world platform to demonstrate how portable battery energy storage systems can support complex outdoor event requirements without relying solely on conventional diesel generators.
Across 36 operating hours, the deployment supplied 992.16 kWh of electricity through 82 portable battery units serving 55 open-air booths, supporting exhibitions, outdoor demonstrations, workshops, product launches, family attractions, and live programmes.
The successful deployment highlights the increasing viability of battery-powered infrastructure for temporary and high-demand environments.
Advancing Cleaner and More Efficient Temporary Energy
The project also demonstrated the environmental and operational advantages of replacing traditional generator infrastructure with portable battery systems.
Based on a diesel-generator comparison, the deployment avoided approximately 803 kg of CO₂e emissions, while reducing on-site exhaust and generator noise.
Beyond events, GoRental sees potential for portable battery energy storage across campsites, construction sites, commercial operations, and critical infrastructure, supporting a broader transition towards cleaner and more flexible temporary power solutions.
The company also plans to continue developing its Power to Empower movement, combining commercial applications with community-focused initiatives that improve access to cleaner temporary energy.
A Milestone Moment of Acknowledgement
The ASIA Records certificate was officially presented on 9 August 2026 at Titiwangsa Stadium, during Outdoor Expo Malaysia 2026.
The recognition was received on stage by Colin Peh, Managing Director & Founder of GoRental, and was witnessed by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, representing GoRental’s leadership in demonstrating the scalability and practical application of portable battery energy storage technology.
