Borneo Referral Group Recognised by ASIA Records for Achieving the Longest Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss (Measuring 1500 Meters in Length)

ASIA Records is proud to officially recognise Borneo Referral Group for achieving a remarkable continental cultural milestone as the: Longest Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss (Measuring 1500 Meters in Length)

This historic achievement was presented on 7 February 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), in conjunction with KongsiRaya 2026, a large-scale multicultural celebration organised by Borneo Referral Group.

Elevating a Festive Tradition onto a Continental Stage

The 1500 meters Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss represented more than an extraordinary physical length—it symbolised unity, inclusivity, and the shared spirit of cultural harmony across Asia.

Traditionally associated with prosperity, goodwill, and shared blessings, the Yee Sang toss was transformed into a large-scale communal expression that brought together participants from diverse backgrounds along a continuous 1500 meters stretch. The scale of coordination and participation demonstrated how a culturally rooted tradition can be elevated into a meaningful continental showcase.

Held as a key highlight of KongsiRaya 2026, the initiative positioned Sabah and Malaysia as a cultural hub capable of delivering impactful heritage-driven events at an Asian level.

A Landmark Moment of Continental Recognition

The ASIA Records recognition was formally presented during the Muhibbah Yee Sang programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre.

The recognition was received by Chef Dion Jee Ted Chen, President of the Borneo Culinary Association Sabah and Sarawak; Yang Berbahagia Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister; and Mr. Brandon Chin, Founder & Chief Executive Officer and Organising Chairman of Borneo Referral Group Sdn Bhd, representing the leadership and stakeholders behind the successful execution of this large-scale cultural milestone.

Their presence underscored the collaboration between culinary leaders, government representatives, and the organising body in bringing this continental record to life.

Voices of Leadership

Reflecting on the achievement, Mr. Brandon Chin, Founder & Chief Executive Officer and Organising Chairman of Borneo Referral Group, shared:

“This ASIA Records recognition affirms the power of cultural traditions to unite communities beyond borders. The Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss was designed not only as a celebration, but as a symbol of harmony and shared prosperity. Seeing it stretch across 1500 meters reflects the collective spirit of those who participated and supported the initiative. It demonstrates how heritage can be presented at scale while preserving its meaning.”

The successful execution of the Longest Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss was made possible through strategic collaboration and sponsorship.

The event was majorly sponsored by Adabi Sabah Distribution Sdn Bhd, with additional support from CCK Fresh Mart and Unilevel Food Solutions, whose contributions enabled the seamless coordination and large-scale participation required for a continental-level achievement.

Strengthening Cultural Identity Through KongsiRaya 2026

KongsiRaya 2026 was conceptualised as a platform to celebrate diversity through food, tradition, and community engagement. By anchoring the programme around the Muhibbah Yee Sang Toss, the event showcased how cultural practices can be amplified into shared experiences that foster unity, respect, and regional pride.

The ASIA Records recognition affirms the impact of this initiative in elevating a festive custom into a symbol of cross-cultural harmony at a continental scale.
